The Greatest Love of all

Its been said of grief, that it’s the last act of love

Where there was great love, there is great grief

I resist this idea, perhaps it’s the past tense

It lives on.

There is no ‘was’, but an ever present

Still’ lying beyond the reach of my memory.

Yet, I feel its phenomenal presence every time

And the grief, yes! It is singular and sentimental

Because though the love is present, you are not

It’s All Souls day and the greatest Love I’ve ever felt is from my mom. I wish she was still here with me but I know her love still lives within me.

                Thank you for reading.
